Rachel Maddow rakes over Senator Kyl for his not intending to make "factual statements" shovel.*
He never actually said X, but effectively and economically, Y is the same thing. Except when it is for the 99%. Tax cuts for the 1% do not need to be paid for. Also not extending the Bush tax cuts, is a tax increase. But tax cuts for the 99%, those need to be paid for, and not extending them are not a tax increase.

I think the slogan "NO NEW TAXES" is very Democratic, give us the old taxes. And a new Texas might not hurt.

Senator Kyl is not lying about what he has never said, literally, but see chart, and how tax cuts pay for themselves. But there is a two fold problem here. One, following my words in the equation. Two, following the chart. But it seems to me that actually, in the Permanent Tax Cuts category, it would be even harder to say. But it does seem to show a relative benefit to old tax rates mixed with Obama tax rates, and flip-flopping the Republican tax policy, as we have virtual mud from the trickle-down. And we even have pun with the bank and the cave.]

The Straw Bear

If a Republican runs in the woods and can’t see the forest for the trees and the Republican falls, does anyone hear what the bear does in the woods?

Ah, the power of myth.
Maybe this is a mother goose chase but those were the days. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Speaking of Teddy Bear, did you know that Wilson made Pershing the first general since the Civil War? The Palin Romney romp through the woods with a bear is quite humorous. It reminds me of, if a tree falls and what a bear does and if anyone will see the forest for what we hear* fall.

The point is that the use of "some people" makes faulty facts bearable. I do not think there is any information that the U.S. was anywhere near losing its dominance in military spending or economic might. In fact I believe that it was over twice the combined spending of the China and the former Soviet Union at the time it fell. In fact it was them coming to an economic grip with reality that did them in. So now China is a different bear and we need no bull in our cabinets.

So war is a straw bear argument. That just means that you have to keep fighting it; the fear mongering and comedy that goes back to our nations birth. Heck beyond, I will say probably cave paintings. But it is no laughing matter that even if the current 6 to 1 ratio has the profit factored out, we could be in trouble.

The catch may be in the fold.  The pun is in the journalism.  The trick or narrative may be in the math and physics.  The point is: what is a dimension?  Not to mention: what is a point?  A point may represent a perspective in space as well as what it may represent in view of the perspective.  A point has no dimension.  Two points represent 1 dimension or a line.   Three non-linear points determine a plane or represent 2 dimensions.  Four non-planar points, require 3 dimensions and represent volume or space.  But dimensions are one level below the point[!]

Time is often referred to as the 4th dimension.  But returning to a point as representing no dimensions, 4 points equilaterally spaced require 3 dimensions (x, y & z).

In the "corporations are people" and "government is bad" absolutist field, Kant we see that death to a country(read that the ideal of the name) is not death to a people(except if change is the enemy)^^.  The act of saying/wiping any name off the map, does not mean people die, unless people die.  Changing or wiping off a name is not an existential threat.  Anymore than American describes a people, or Zion is a race or state.  This can be seen in the poll(I speculate), that Iranians might hate America, but be more favorable to the people and other principles.  It might also be seen in the take on Israel from True Torah Jews.  But change is a threat to a part of us all.  Even the name Zion has geographical and metaphysical branches.(Castle/Dry Land/Brook)

Six Things Everybody Knows About Deficits ...
That Are Completely Untrue
Which I rephrase as truths:

1.) Current and future spending are not the problem with the defecit, except for paying for our history.
2.) Social Security is not a big deal to fix(separately), but could be impacted by the budget and other decisions.
3.) Austerity and investment are different stories, that both have an impact on the budget and winning the future as well as the now.
4.) Concessions should not be trickle down but incentives should be target up.
5.) Wall Street is not fixed enough to be that big or permanent a part of the solution.
6.) Social Security is not on the same budget table as Medicare and Medicaid and calling them "entitlements" is misleading, and means testing or tax changes could address their impact on our economy.

If I may paraphrase and extend the remarks of a caller to the Norman Goldman Show: If you are not for "a more perfect Union" you may be Un-American. If you are not willing "to promote the General Welfare" you may be militant against "the Blessings of Liberty", but one can take words (and rhetoric or puns) too far. I suggest the word militant not be used, and that nowwhere near the tactics be used in political protests** but just who expects whom to turn the other cheek? There seems to be a slippery slope in the free speech zone.

Listening to Howard Fineman and rumors that the Republicans may need to reschedule their convention it seems that Obama has rained on their parade. "A base irony" as Olbermann put it, "and a hoot", not as I would put it. Apparently Obama has struck the cave that counts. Chris Matthews has been a hoot as well, thanks for the secret weapon or whatever the reference above. His hint that someone may be in hiding or leaking, but what I add is a reference to an adage. The land of Pawlenty? Is it any reference that leads to streets paved in gold, or is it just follow the yellow brick road?

[Rather than be too obtuse, the implication is that the tone of the Republican convention could not match that of the Democrats so their lack of spirit will be in honor of the suffering victims. Either that or their prayers backfired. I won't even joke about what to pray for, but I do hope for a parting of the ways.]

On the political front.

You may notice that most of my stuff is on the political front. But the point is that it is better than many alternatives. Anarchy and Tyranny being just two bad alternatives which it may actually be noticed that Righty Republicans are good [* at] and merging.

If or when Bush vetoes the money for the troops in Iraq and other funding for Katrina recovery and other domestic "emergencies". Congress can either let it stand as a veto and Bush will have taken away the funds from these causes or hold the vote to overturn the veto and see how many Righty Republicans there are.

It is disgusting that Bush is playing the only type of politics he knows and trying to have his way, while threatening the troops to get it.

[Update 8:30AM -- Sometimes politicians are the scum of the earth, and Bush is the cream of the crop, his rhetoric curdles the mind and the heart.]

[* 4-17-07: Will Democrats Cave? Ray McGovern feels it is likely. I would note that there is a distinction that Bush will make, if he vetoes the Emergency Supplemental, that he is the one that will be putting the troops in harms way, by rejecting the funding he requested. That a veto can be left as it stands and funding will not have been cut by the Democrats. It seems that the issue that McGovern is concerned about with Senator Levin is a sensible balancing act. His refusal to cut funds in the future is appropriate at this time and unnessecary if Bush vetoes the Supplemental. If there is a veto, there is nothing that says that the president gets a second chance. A veto does not need to be overridden or even a replacement bill produced, and future action will be future action.
